Your Liberty Matters!
Welcome to LibertyClipz, where we know your Liberty matters!
The founding fathers of the United States enshrined a range of core ideals within the Constitution, aimed at establishing a just and balanced government. These include:
Limited Government: The Constitution outlines a system of limited government with specific powers granted to each branch, preventing the concentration of power in any one entity. If the Constitution does not explicitly provide the government authority to do something, and congress makes a law contradictory to this simple truth from the Constitution, the surreptitiously devised laws are NULL at face value.
Separation of Powers: The government is divided into, what were at one point, three distinct branches—Legislative, Executive, and Judicial—to prevent any one branch from becoming too powerful.
Checks and Balances: Each branch of the government has the ability to restrain actions of the other branches, ideally maintaining a balance of power between the branches and preventing abuses and other forms of usurpation; similar to those that sparked the emancipation of America from Britain.
Federalism: The Constitution establishes a federal system of government, where power is shared between the national government and individual states, allowing for cooperation between all member states within these United States. It’s time we get back to loving our neighbors.
Individual Rights: The Bill of Rights, the first ten amendments to the Constitution, remind government about The People’s fundamental rights such as freedom of speech, religion, and the press, as well as the right to a fair trial and protection from cruel and unusual punishment. Keep in mind that these rights are not afforded to us by any document. Rather, they were endowed upon us from our Creator and these rights are inalienable.
Popular Sovereignty: The government’s authority is derived from the consent of the governed, meaning that citizens have the ultimate power to elect representatives and shape their government.
Republicanism: The Constitution establishes a republican form of government, where representatives are elected to make decisions on behalf of the people. Building on the idea of Popular Sovereignty; “A government of the people, by the people, for the people.”
Rule of Law: The Constitution is the supreme law of the land, and all individuals, including government officials, are subject to its provisions.
Due Process: The Constitution ensures that individuals are entitled to fair treatment under the law and are protected against arbitrary actions by the government.
Protection of Property Rights: The Constitution recognizes and protects property rights as an essential component of individual liberty.
These ideals were intended to create a balanced, democratic system that respects individual rights and prevents the abuse of power, laying the foundation for the principles that guide the United States to this day.
